A bit of background, Dan received a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University and is a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist in the State of Tennessee. Prior to coming to Grace Pointe, Dan worked for Daymark Recovery Services on the Assertive Community Treatment Team serving people with severe and persistent mental illnesses and their families. Dan also has experience working with children and those suffering with addiction, depression, and anxiety.

Dan has training in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Collaborative Language Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), and Recovery Oriented Cognitive Therapy for Schizophrenia (CT – R). Additionally, Dan received certificates in Addiction Counseling and Multicultural Counseling from Appalachian State University.

Dan enjoys reading and discussing theology, philosophy, and world religions (he also has a Masters degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary), hunting, sports, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to therapy, Dan has served in ministry, both locally and cross – culturally, and teaches online for William Jessup University.

He currently accepts BCBS, Compsych, Optum, UHC, UMR, Aetna and Cigna

His self pay rate is $105 for intake visits and $85 after that for regular visits.
