Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Dan holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee. Before joining Grace Pointe, Dan worked on the Assertive Community Treatment Team at Daymark Recovery Services. There, he supported people with severe and persistent mental illnesses and their families.

Dan also has experience working with children and clients dealing with addiction, depression, and anxiety. He is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Collaborative Language Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy for Schizophrenia (CT-R). Dan also holds certificates in Addiction Counseling and Multicultural Counseling from Appalachian State University.

Dan enjoys reading and discussing theology, philosophy, and world religions. He also has a Master’s degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary. Outside of therapy, Dan likes hunting, sports, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to counseling, Dan has served in ministry locally and cross-culturally. He teaches online courses for William Jessup University.

Dan accepts BCBS, Compsych, Optum, UHC, UMR, Aetna, and Cigna insurance plans. His self-pay rates are $105 for intake sessions and $85 for regular visits.
